FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, PLEASEYOUR THEATRE INC. NAMES STAFFNEW BEDFORD, MA ---Your Theatre, Inc. has named two New Bedford men, Dennis J. Amaral and Roger H. Allen, to its management staff.Edward J. Maguire, the company's business manager and artistic director, announced the appointments at a recent Board of Governors meeting. Mr. Amaral was named assistant artistic director effective April 12. Mr. Allen will become publicity and promotion manager effective June 1. For more than 10 years Mr. Amaral has served the Your Theatre organization as an actor, director, stage manager, member of various committees, and member of the board of governors. He will be involved in planning YTI's production season and in organizing drama workshops. He will also head the soon-to-be instituted Your Theatre Playwrights Platform. Mr. Allen, a journalism graduate of Boston University who also holds a doctoral degree, has extensive award- winning experience as a newspaper, public relations, and electronic media writer and editor. Also an actor and member of YTI's Board of Governors, Mr. Allen succeeds current Governing Board President Lawrence R. Houbre Jr., who will assume responsibility for fund raising and corporate administration in addition to leading the board. In appointing Mr. Amaral and Mr. Allen, Mr. Maguire said "We at Your Theatre are very proud to have these two talented individuals on our staff." He also said "Mr. Houbre Jr. deserves a standing ovation for his excellent work as publicity manager in the past." Founded in 1946, YTI is incorporated as a non-profit community theatre which seeks to enhance the cultural life of New Bedford, Southeastern Massachusetts, and nearby communities through the study and regular presentation of dramatic productions and other programs of high quality and professional standards. The company also develops and encourages artistic talent through the establishment and operation of workshops, theatre productions and other dramatic training opportunities. | ||||
