THEATRE GROUP DONATES PLAY TICKETS

NEW BEDFORD --- Your Theatre, Inc. has donated two subscriptions for three upcoming productions to The Standard-Times/Salvation Army's Neediest Families Fund Day silent auction. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 14, in The Standard-Times headquarters at 25 Elm Street..

Each subscription will entitle the winning bidder to attend performances of

Martin McDonagh’s The Beauty Queen of Leenane which opens January 18, Ivan Menchell’s The Cemetery Club, opening March 15, and Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy The Importance of Being Earnest which opens May 10.

A winning bidder may select one of nine performances slated for each of the three productions. Each show runs for consecutive Wednesdays through Saturdays with a Sunday matinee between both weeks. Curtain times are at 8 p.m. for all shows except the 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinee.

Now in its 59th season, Your Theatre, Inc. was rated the favorite 2005 community theatre organization in Southeastern Massachusetts in a poll conducted by The New Bedford Standard-Times.

The poll, which asked the newspaper’s readers to choose their preferred businesses and service providers in a variety of categories, drew more than 4,000 responses.

Founded in 1946, YTI is incorporated as a non-profit community theatre which seeks to enhance the cultural life of New Bedford, Southeastern Massachusetts, and nearby communities through the study and regular presentation of dramatic productions and other programs of high quality and professional standards.

The company also develops and encourages artistic talent through the establishment and operation of workshops, theatre productions and other dramatic training opportunities.
