NEW BEDFORD, MA --- Your Theatre, Inc. has named a panel of business leaders to its newly created Business and Artistic Management Advisory Team.
While studying the structure and operations of Your Theatre’s current management systems, the panel will focus on improving the company’s business practices and artistic program development, as well as on recruiting and training volunteers.
Headed by Eric Paradis, financial advisor with Massachusetts Financial Group, the panel includes Dr. Roger H. Allen, president of The Allen Communications Co.; Dennis J. Amaral, advertising executive for The Standard-Times; Caroline R. Cuccia, communications coordinator for the United Way of Greater New Bedford, Attorney Lee J. Fortier, and UMass/Dartmouth Security Officer Wayne E. LeBlanc.
Advising the panel will be Edward J. Maguire, current business manager and artistic director for Your Theatre, and Cynthia J. Messier, assistant business manager.
Among the panelists, Mr. Amaral also is the drama group’s assistant artistic director. Mr. LeBlanc, the company’s treasurer, and Dr. Allen, who manages its publicity department, are members of the theater group’s Board of Governors.
Now in its 59th season, Your Theatre, Inc. was rated the favorite 2005 community theatre organization in Southeastern Massachusetts in a poll conducted by The New Bedford Standard-Times.
The poll, which asked the newspaper’s readers to choose their preferred businesses and service providers in a variety of categories, drew more than 4,000 responses.
Founded in 1946, YTI is incorporated as a non-profit community theatre which seeks to enhance the cultural life of New Bedford, Southeastern Massachusetts, and nearby communities through the study and regular presentation of dramatic productions and other programs of high quality and professional standards.
The company also develops and encourages artistic talent through the establishment and operation of workshops, theatre productions and other dramatic training opportunities.
