NEW BEDFORD, MA -- Woody Allen’s comedy Don’t Drink the Water, the third major production of Your Theatre, Inc.’s 63rd season, opens on Thursday, January 21st for a nine performance run. Houbre, Jr. of New Bedford, the play runs Thursday through Saturday January 21st - 23rd and Wednesday through Saturday January 27- 30th at 8:00PM with a matinee Sundays, January 24th and 31st at3:00 p.m.

This hilarious comedy takes place inside an American embassy in an unnamed country behind the Iron Curtain in the 1960’s. An American tourist, a caterer by trade, and his wife and daughter rush into the embassy two steps ahead of the police who suspect them of spying and picture taking. It's not much of a refuge, for the ambassador is absent and his son, now in charge, has been expelled from a dozen countries and the continent of Africa. Nevertheless, they carefully and frantically plot their escape, and the ambassador's son and the caterer's daughter even have time to fall in love.
